New public spaces in Astana
In modern urbanistics, the first assessment of the city is generally based on the availability and condition of its public spaces. These are connected with the criteria of the friendliness of the city's environment towards its citizens, the comfort and the willingness of the citizens to spend their free time in the city.
For that particular reason, a lot of attention has been paid to the creation of public spaces on the territory of EXPO-2017 International Specialized Exhibition in Astana. So, the leading public architects and engineers in collaboration with Kazakhstan specialists have designed 4 public spaces called "Creative Energy Spaces", which is a development on the theme EXPO-2017 "Energy of the Future."
The general design principle of the installations is waviness. This principle approach to working with the geometry of the installations creates a sense of movement, thus demonstrating the motion of matter, which is the phenomenon that produces Energy. This principle makes it possible to flexibly and variously work with the plastic effect of each individual installation, while maintaining the visual and conceptual integrity of all four installations.
Description of "Creative Energy Spaces":
Space C1: Wind. The main artistic object of the space is an installation with a wind turbine, which converts the wind energy into electricity. The turbine is connected to a system of modular furniture equipped with charging stations for mobile phones and other gadgets.
Space C2: Water. Through the transparent wall of the installation in this space, one can see how the water energy works. Visitors will be able to enjoy the spectacular view created by water currents, and feel the power of the stream when passing through the water curtain system.
Space C3: Earth. In the "Earth" space, the main engineering object is made up of geysers integrated into the "body" of the installation. Being inside the installation with a grass cover, you can feel the stronghold on which the human civilization is built, and use the energy of the earth turned into electricity by means of charging stations.
Space C4: The sun. On the surface of the installation in this zone there are collectors-converters of sunlight, which has long been a source of new energy. The energy of the sun here presents a vivid example of the new possibilities of mankind looking into the future.
The concept of the Thematic Spaces was invented by the Moscow architectural bureau "The New". And the unusual undulating constructions of the pavilions were developed by the famous engineering company Stahlbau Pichler, which implemented projects of such world famous masters and architectural bureaus as Zaha Hadid, Giovanni Vaccarini, Cristian Undurraga, Massimiliano Fuksas and many others.
