Eurasian Cultural Alliance aims to preserve and build up a strong collection of contemporary art with the focus on the local art community as well as international artists that are related to the Central Asian context. We believe that the strongest artworks have to be presented not only in the international permanent collections but also in the country of its origins. We see problematics in the fact that even major museums and art institutions do not have funds for collecting the pieces by significant artists and preserving the cultural identity for the future generations. Lots of artworks are being either lost in time or sold abroad which disables the country from keeping its best art pieces. We intend to donate the selected artworks from our organization to a museum of contemporary art when one is built here in Kazakhstan and if we will trust the administration of that institution enough at the time when donation will be possible. Currently the collection of Eurasian Cultural Alliance consists of somewhat 100 indoor and outdoor artworks that reflect upon current socio-cultural changes and act as a common denominator for visual and conceptual thinking of the country. We are especially proud to have the following names on our list : Elena & Victor Vorobeyv, Moldakyl Narymbetov, art-group Kyzyl-Traktor, Kuanysh Bazargaliev, Zoya Falkova, Saule Dysseinbina, Georgy Tryakin-Bukharov, Syrlybek Bekbotaev, Baha Bubikanova, Said Atabekov and many others who made or continue making a strong contribution to the history of contemporary art. The goal is to keep developing this important initiative with a support from our partners and those who are not indifferent to art history of Kazakhstan and its place in the world.
